Kamy Tehranchi is Managing Partner at Watkins & Associates. He came to Watkins after a long and distinguished career of over twenty-one years in the energy industry, culminating in the last four years as Global Strategic Business Manager with Halliburton Energy Services.
Mr. Tehranchi earned a Masters of Science degree in Chemical and Natural Gas Engineering from A&M University in Kingsville, Texas, as well as a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
He began his career with Halliburton Energy Services serving several operational/sales functions in the offshore/onshore sector of oil & gas. Subsequently he held the position of Technical Advisor/District Manager where he was the focal point of contact with major oil and gas company, identifying business opportunities in Europe and West Africa. Afterwards, he served as Global Marketing Manager, responsible for managing a $700 million product line.
In 1994, Tehranchi was named Latin America Regional Manager with responsibilities for the cementing business in nine Latin American countries and over 1,000 employees. His superior and proven leadership skills soon led to his appointment as Global Product Line Manager for three years, where he led his team to set future direction for technology and targeting business markets. He played a key role in the global pricing strategy for the product line, resulting in a significant gain on the margins. Tehranchi was also instrumental in the developing fit for purpose equipment for focused markets, which resulted in a new generation of land and offshore equipment.
Tehranchi's effective communication and exceptional negotiating skills, led him to be named Global Strategic Business Manager, a key role in the restructuring and integration of three major product lines between Halliburton Energy Services and Dresser Oil Field Services, where he was responsible for long–and short–term strategies and direction of three major product lines with a revenue of $2 billion. Also directly responsible for the development and commercialization of new products of over $300 million in 2000, he was instrumental in redefining the manufacturing process for a product line and acquired breakthrough technology in the drilling fluids business, giving Baroid Drilling Fluids a clear market
leadership.
